Hi there! Last week we showed you the first 5 top web design trends of 2020 and this article focuses on the remaining 5 of them. Read more to find out what they are!
Breaking The Typography Rules
It is not a surprise that rule breaking catches the attention of people. Even in web design, where you would probably not expect it, design rules are broken and, in this case, typography rules like spacing or word order are not followed. The example above shows how intriguing a website can become when words are mirrored or upside down. They make you want to read the disturbed part!
Typography here becomes an art element rather than an informing one.
Patterns
Patterns are having a huge comeback in 2020. Although we see everywhere the widely popular dotted pattern, many more creative ones have emerged. They are often used as a background but can also be a part of separate parts of it. This is where trends combine and graphic patterns are styled with photography or even breaking typography rules to create a beautiful finished product.
Retro Style
No matter the numerous technological advancements and trends we have today, I feel like people always try to find a way to go back to the old times. They feel nostalgic and maybe want to relive some special moments. This is where retro design comes in. We can see it on numerous occasions in our everyday life like in clothing and furniture. But in 2020 we also see it in web design. Black and white photos, old graphics’ style and technology are often the centerpiece of a whole website.
They truly take you back in time and provoke your emotions.
Black and White
No matter how fun, colorful, and energetic design can be, some people may just prefer displaying their company in a simple black and white style. It has become very trendy to do so. This is also part of the minimalist trend but rather than elements, it is purely about the color scheme of a website.
Like in the example above, a small pop of color can always contribute towards a more elegant and finished overall look. The website grabs the attention and is easy to understand, which is the most important task it has.
Luminous color schemes
Neon and luminous colors have definitely been a recent trend all around the world. But can we blame anyone, who wouldn’t want a little glow in their life? This glow is also now present in numerous websites.
